Working Group information
- Working Group Lead: Mitali Ayyangar, DataKind
- Working Group Objective: Identify targeted geographic areas within each county to begin strategic healthcare practitioner outreach for FI Screening implementation and training, using existing data sources that pinpoint high patient need areas.
Progress Updates
- DataKind completed the Data Dive event in Orlando in October 2023
- Foundational work was completed, and a prototype of the tool was developed
- That tool has continued to be enhanced, with feedback from HHTF members (survey was disseminated in Janaury 2024) and Second Harvest staff
- Tool will include the following:
- Ability to map, and at time overlay, publicly available data sets
- Ability to upload private data sets, and overlay on top of public data sets
- The DataKind team is looking into functionality to allow time progression of data in the map
Next Steps
- HHTF members can continue to share useful data sets and/or suggestions for the mapping tool by reaching out to Angela Corona
- HHTF members interested in group and one on one feedback sessions can reach out to Angela Corona
- DataKind will be facilitating group and one on one user testing sessions throughout the next few months to gain feedback on functionality and use of the tool
